About Hojiblanca

ìThe largest producer of olives and extra virgin olive oil worldwide!

Quien es Hojiblanca

Make sure you only buy extra virgin olive oil from the Hojiblanca brand. Olive oils are not all the same, and only this label can guarantee that it comes from unblemished olives; it is just its natural juice obtained without any type of manipulation or the addition of any other ingredients. Only Hojiblanca extra virgin olive oil guarantees unique flavour nuances, while preserving all its healthy properties intact.

Hojiblanca, an Andalusian Cooperative Society, is a cooperative of second degree, i.e., a union of cooperatives engaged in the production of extra virgin olive oil and table olives. It currently includes 48 olive oil cooperatives located at the heart of Andalusia, in the provinces of Córdoba, M·laga and Seville. 45 of these are olive mills and 9 are olive seasoning plants.

The Hojiblanca cooperative is made up of 23,000 olive-producing families that farm 24 million trees in a total of 180.000 hectares of olive groves. All this together with an annual average production of 80,000 tons of virgin olive oil and 30,000 tons of table olives, turn Grupo Hojiblanca into the largest producer of extra virgin olive oil and table olives in the world. In fact, it is present in the international markets, with exports to over 40 countries, among which we find the United States, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Sweden, Finland, Austria, Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, Japan, China or South Africa.

At Hojiblanca we take good care of the fruit, from blooming through to harvesting at its optimum maturity stage and up to its bottling. This is the only way to keep full control of the production process so as to be able to offer an extra virgin olive oil of unique qualities. The combination of traditional harvesting methods -the hand pole beating (vareo) and the hand picking collection- with the most technologically advanced ones, allows us to start the production process while the harvest is still taking place. Thus, our olives enter the grinding phase just after they have been picked up from the olive tree, which is an essential condition to achieve an extra virgin olive oil of premium quality.
